The world of marketing

In my post A Mountainous Journey, I mentioned in passing that a couple of marketing professionals had assisted me with my marketing plan. In an attempt to show my gratitude, and introduce you to the marketing mastermind behind my project, I am writing this post about my mentor, assistant, and marketing saviour.

Meet the knight in shining armour – the Servant of Chaos, otherwise known as Gavin Heaton.
I am certain that without his unfailing encouragement, support, guidance, and practical assistance, my project (and I) would have gone up in a puff of smoke many months ago. So, my thanks to Gavin for keeping me on track with my project, and rescuing me from the daunting world of marketing (which, it turns out, isn’t so scary after all!)
Not only did Gavin spend hours with me working on the marketing plan via email, IM, phone and in person, he has continued to graciously put up with my ridiculously ignorant questions, and continues to help me with the organisation of my concert.

Gavin, as always taking me under his wing, introduced me to the world of social media – with which I am slowly becoming familiar. A couple of months ago I would never have dreamed of creating a blog, let alone writing for it – yet here I am.

So, as everything begins to fall into place, and my network of connections grows, I am taking a moment to reflect on the progress of the concert, and contemplate how I’ve managed to make it this far.
My conclusion is as follows:

  • Dreams and aspirations – I have a dream, and I will work incessantly until it is achieved. No is not an answer, and giving up is not an option.
  • Hard work – I have put in a lot of time and effort to see this dream become a reality, and will continue to do so until I achieve my goal.
  • Gavin Heaton – need I say more?
